About festival

Autumn Chamber Music Festival will take place from 5 to 17 October in concert venues in Riga and at the Dzintari Concert Hall in Jurmala. The festival will be opened by the world-famous Modigliani String Quartet from France, who will treat the audience to a highly refined concert programme of Viennese classics. Alongside the distinguished foreign guests, the festival will welcome pianists Sergejs and Andrejs Osokins, the Sinfonietta Rīga chamber orchestra and pianist Reinis Zariņš will be joining on stage, and musical postcards will be sent from Kurzeme by Santa Vižine, Agnese Egliņa and Matīss Eisaks. Finally, the young, talented singer Katrīna Paula Felsberga and legendary pianist Malcolm Martineau will conclude the festival's programme.

The Autumn Chamber Music Festival is the most notable and long-living chamber music festival in Latvia. Since 1993, when it is autumn and winter outside, the concerts have been taking place both in Rīga and elsewhere around Latvia. The Autumn Chamber Music Festival seeks to implement the best Vienna and Salzburg traditions here, in Latvia, and the keyword is ‘refinement’.

The motto of the festival is tête-à-tête – ‘a private conversation’ in French, emphasizing the uniquely intimate chamber musicianship atmosphere and the very special dialogue that takes place between the audience and musicians.

The festival provides stylistically diverse programmes ranging from the classics to jazz, including innovative multimedia projects and unconventional performance. A plenty of brilliant ensembles have been among the guests of the Autumn Chamber Music Festival – Hagen Quartet, Berliner Philharmoniker String Quartet, Artemis Quartet, Ensemble Modern, Gidon Kremer&Kremerata Baltica et als.
